Academic and Language Programs

In partnership with distinguished institutions of higher education and research centers, WSA Exchange provides rigorous academic programs and language courses. We offer courses in a variety of disciplines, including Environmental Science, Public Health, International Development, Agricultural Science, Business and Economics, Education, History, Gender Studies, Political Science, Religious Studies, Economics, etc.
We can also meet our partners’ various interests by providing assistance in the design and implementation of their customized programs.

We provide unique learning opportunities through language courses that are taught by experienced instructors. Whether students seek to acquire basic conversational skills or enhance complex communicative abilities, course instruction centers on meeting the needs of our students by putting them in optimal learning contexts through interactive practice and sustained immersion. We offer courses in the following languages: Mandinka, Pulaar, Serer, Wolof, English and French.

In addition to academic and language courses, WSA Exchange provides support to scholars seeking to conduct research in Senegal. We provide workspace, logistical support, and expertise for researchers interested in conducting fieldwork or collaborating with local colleagues in their disciplines. We also organize academic workshops and networking events in order to foster a strong and collaborative community between African scholars and their colleagues from other parts of the world.

Internship and Community Engagement

Depending on their interests, participants in WSA Exchange programs may conduct internships with various organizations in both English and French. Our partners include a host of businesses operating in the public and private sectors as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) committed to social development. Our internship network spans sectors such as environment, health, microfinance, education, agriculture, human rights, and technology.

We also provide opportunities for program participants to engage with locals in community development projects. We have an extended network of partners operating a large variety of projects to accommodate participants’ needs.

Social Entrepreneurship and Networking

WSA Exchange helps entrepreneurs interested in investing in Africa to become more familiar with economic opportunities available on the continent. We also work with local entrepreneurs seeking to expand their networks to other continents. To achieve this goal, WSA Exchange organizes training seminars and offers logistical support to help ease investment processes. In this respect, WSA Exchange helps support a worldwide network of entrepreneurs committed not only to financial growth, but also to social change and sustainable development.

Travel, Tour, and Homestay Facilitation

WSA Exchange provides services that match the interests of various groups: students, faculty, or individuals seeking to experience and explore Senegal, in particular, or West Africa, in general. Our dedicated team of highly qualified professionals with great intercultural competence skills is ready to ready to respond to our participants’ needs.

Whether participants opt to stay in hotels or with host families, WSA Exchange will make the best arrangements for them to have a safe, fun and rewarding experience. Our host families have a long experience hosting internationals and have all been trained to provide a safe and secure intercultural environment to our participants.
